African Vulture Optimization-Based Optimal Control Strategy for Voltage Control of Islanded DC Microgrids

DC microgrids have gained a lot of interest recently due to increasing dc loads such as electric vehicles and the penetration renewable energy sources (RESs). However, face challenges concerning bus voltage fluctuations, which severely impact system stability when subjected uncertainties load RESs. This paper focuses on maintaining DC-bus through control for islanded microgrid using concept cascade double-loop control. The rule in is based proportional-integral (PI) controller tuned new nature-inspired African vulture optimization algorithm (AVOA). presents comparison performance against particle swarm (PSO) under several operating conditions. simulation considers actual data solar irradiance temperature sudden changes. implemented MATLAB/Simulink. results demonstrate that AVOA-based PI performs better regulation than PSO-based controller.
